Nothing is More Constructive Than the "Non Licet"

Christian life does not consist simply in praising the Lord and in honoring Him with external manifestations. it demands that one fulfill everything prescribed in the Ten Commandments, which repeat-with how much clarity and efficacy!-the Natural Law imprinted upon the heart of every man.
We are speaking of saying "no" to evil, in all of its forms, and it is precisely for having declared one of these forms "non licet" that the head of John was severed and borne upon a tray. but htis now shines throughout all centuries, even upon this earth, in the glory of innumerable cathedrasl, churches, and monuments.
In daily life, one frequently hears it repeated that the Church could stand to be more indulgent, to concede some slight compromise... This, never. The Pope can be as good and forbearing as you wish, but, in the face of sad realities, of miserable inobservances, his attitude will be unshakably firm, clear, unbending, respectfully submissive to the truth.
