Hello there, nice to meet you.

I'm Willy Strohmeier, born and raised in Lima-Peru, and now a proud American citizen. I am married and have a beautiful family that includes four children and expecting our fifth by mid 2005.

I am a practicing Catholic, and thus enjoy reading and learning as much as I can about the Holy Catholic Church, her history, her Saints, apologetics, theology, Mariology, Scripture, etc. I believe that to love the Church, one must know the Church, not from urban myths, disseminated by anti-catholic propaganda (and sadly taken for truth by many unsuspecting catholics), but to truly know her with all her traditions and splendor that the grace of God has given her as His instrument on earth for our santification.

If you get a chance visit the site for the American TFP. I met them in Peru and they can be found around the world. This group of modern crusaders (in the best sense of the word) form an excellent lay Catholic organization and has helped me and many others increase the love for God, His Holy Church, and His Holy Mother, specially through a special devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. They have excellent publications just as another favorite of mine, TAN Books, only not as many.

On another note, I enjoy Karate. I am a third degree black belt on the Shotokan style of Karate-do (traditional karate). I had the chance to represent Peru a couple of times in the Pan-American and South-American championships getting Silver and Gold respectively before I moved to the States. I have two older brothers that did likewise only with much more international experience (and more medals too). Our instructor was Luis Chiock Wong, an excellent Karate Master, and an even greater person, to him we owe our karate formation and are deeply indebted for the legacy he has given us of technical excellence and the true spirit of Karate.

I currently reside in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado, USA. Work for a technology company doing Software Configuration Management (SCM). I have an Asociates Degree in Electronics from the Denver Institute of Technology (now Westwood College), a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Regis University, and a Masters of Science in Computer Information Technology also from Regis University. I count my interest in Computer Science as one of my hobbies, so I like to spend some of my scarce spare time working on personal software projects.

My Favorites:

Movies: The Mission (with Robert DeNiro), about the Spanish and Portuguese colonization and the missionary work of the Jesuits in South America.
"A Man for All Seasons", about St. Thomas Moore, martir during the chaotic reign of Henry VIII and the break of the Church in England.
Mothern Author: William Thomas Walsh, a great Catholic historian, (Phillip II is a great book).
Ancient Author: Saint Augustine. (specially liked his City of God-sure made my neurons work overtime).
Music: who else could it be but Mozart, I specially like his Coronation Mass.
Saint: Saint John Marie Baptiste Vianney, best known as the Cure of Ars. You have to get to know this great saint. As a small token read his sermon on "Give to Ceasar..."
Sport: Obvious...Karate. But I enjoy also tennis, soccer, football, ping-pong, and even chess and pretty good at it too. Operating System: UNIX definitely, in all its different flavors. I have a couple of Wintendo boxes to play games on, but recently got an Xbox to do that, so those win-boxes will be runing Linux full-time soon. And after I get my mod chip, I'll have the Xbox doing the same soon (can't wait).
